Issue:
After installing the PS Suite client on macOS, the desktop shortcut/icon disappears or is not created.
Observed Behavior:
This issue has been reported
by several macOS users. The desktop icon for launching PS Suite disappears after initial launch, even though the application is downloaded
successfully.
Solution:
To resolve this, we manually create a shortcut (alias) to the PS Suite client:
Steps to Create the PS Suite Desktop Icon Manually on macOS:
-
Open Finder.
-
In the menu bar, click on Go > Go to Folder.
-
Enter the following path: ~/.pss
-
Navigate into the folder named after the IP address of the PS Suite server.
-
Locate the file named PSS Client.jar.
-
Right-click on PSS Client.jar and select Make Alias.
-
Drag the newly created alias to the Desktop.
This manual process restores access to the PS Suite client via a desktop icon for affected macOS users.
